August Fischer Makers

We combine Old World craft with Midwestern sensibility to make unfussy, really useful items for daily life.

One of us actually has a forebear, August Wilhelm Fischer, a German immigrant to the Chicago area in the late 1800's.  One of us has worked in the craft honey business and bears a certain affection for worker bees who will fly so many miles collecting nectar to make honey that her wings actually wear away and she can no longer fly.

A laboribus dulcedinem - "with labor, sweetness"
Unpretentious. Built to last.  Good value.
